Stubenviertel, the unknown heart of Vienna

The Stubenviertel, one of the four quarters of medieval Vienna, became the center of student life and the old University of Vienna thanks to the Jesuits. Today it impresses with the newly renovated Academy of Sciences with the wonderfully designed festival hall, the Jesuit monastery, the baroque Heiligenkreuzerhof and the area around the Griechengasse.

Our tour of discovery starts at the Stubentor with the remains of the medieval city wall, takes us to the highlights of this district and ends with a wine tasting in a medieval cellar with the remains of a Roman city gate. Much more history of Vienna than here can hardly be offered. A must for every Vienna lover!
